My name is Bryan Vayda. I am a Chemistry and Secondary Education Major at URI. I am from Flemington NJ where I went to high school, in which I played basketball. I hold the lesson on the court with me throughout my college career and life. I am competitive and have a team work mentality. Where team work is important I also know that each player must be accountable for their role. Outside of school I have experience in a Analytical lab, and I am versed in many anayltical techniques. I enjoy sports and staying in shape.
In trying to expand a students knowledge of chemistry one must know how elements come together and create compounds that are used throughout any community. This unit builds basic knowledge so that students can use this as a foundation to go on and study more in depth about the ways in which atomic molecules react. Its focus is on Covalent and Ionic bonds between elements. This is the basics of all that is created in the world, and this is my pitch to the students. I hope that their curiosity of how the planet works will make them become as interested in chemistry as I am.
